A book by Kim-Char Meredith

Steadyor not,

Here We Come

A grounded, candid invitation to meet uncertainty with presence, curiosity, and the courage to keep moving.

Steady or Not, Here We Come by Kim-Char Meredith book cover

You do not have to be steady to begin.

I wrote this book for the moments when life feels uncertain, the ground seems to be moving, and we are not sure what the next step should be.

Through personal stories, reflections, and guided meditations, I invite you to pause with me, look again at some of the stories you have carried, and remember the Love that has been present within you all along.

Begin where you are

For a long time, I believed healing meant repairing everything that was broken in me.

Over time, I began to understand it differently. Healing was not about treating myself like a problem that needed to be solved. It was about remembering the wholeness already within me while tending honestly and lovingly to the places that had been wounded.

Those unfinished places are real. They deserve care, truth, and sometimes change. But they are not the deepest truth of who we are.

Steady or Not, Here We Come is an invitation to recognize that deeper truth and begin living from it—not someday, when everything is settled, but here and now.

A companion for the unfolding

The book moves through three connected parts, each offering a different way to pause, notice, and remember.

Personal Stories

These stories come from my own life—moments of welcome and loss, fear and laughter, creativity, relationships, wandering, and finding my way back.

Our experiences may not be the same, but another person’s story can sometimes become a mirror. Somewhere in these pages, you may recognize a longing you have carried, a moment of courage, or a part of yourself waiting to be seen differently.

Musings

The reflections in this section begin with ordinary moments and the meanings we make from them.

They invite us to pause together, question familiar assumptions, and wonder what Love may be asking us to notice about wholeness, boundaries, conversation, joy, belonging, and the ways we move through the world.

Guided Meditations

The final part of the book creates room for your own experience.

Through grounded imagery and gentle reflection, the meditations invite you to settle, breathe, listen inwardly, receive care, make conscious choices, and return to the still center within.

We are not always steady. Love is.

We may feel uncertain, unfinished, unworthy, or unprepared.

We may wander. We may lose our sense of direction. We may carry wounds that have not fully healed.

We do not have to wait for every question to be answered or for the ground beneath us to stop shaking. We can trust the steadiness of Love as we open the next door, take the next step, and show up more fully for the lives we are already living.

Across the white line

One of the first stories begins at a hand-painted white line stretched across an old asphalt driveway in Hawaiʻi.

Before I crossed it, the woman welcoming me stopped and explained that once I stepped over the line, I would become ʻohana—family.

It was a simple gesture, but I never forgot how it felt to be welcomed before I had explained who I was or proven that I belonged. That moment became one of the thresholds of this book: an invitation to cross into a different way of seeing ourselves, one another, and the ordinary places where Divine Love is already present.

This is not a book about fixing yourself

I will not ask you to pretend that pain is not painful or that every difficult experience happens for a simple reason.

I will invite you to look beneath the belief that your wounds, mistakes, fears, or unfinished places define you.

The stories in this book are deeply personal, but I offer them in the hope that something in them will meet something in you. Perhaps a memory will surface. Perhaps an old story will loosen. Perhaps you will recognize that you have been held by Love in more ways than you realized.

You do not need to agree with every conclusion or arrive at the same answers I have. You are invited to bring your own questions, your own experiences, and your own inner knowing.

A book to spend time with

You may read Steady or Not, Here We Come from beginning to end, or pause wherever a story, reflection, or meditation meets you.

Some pages may make you laugh. Others may stir memories or invite you to sit quietly for a while. The guided meditations are there when you are ready to move from reading into your own experience.

There is no need to hurry.

Let the book unfold at the pace that feels right for you.

Continue into The Remembering Room

The experience of the book continues through The Remembering Room, a companion space for Kim-Char’s music, recorded guided meditations, and other offerings created to help you pause, breathe, and return to your center.

The songs carry many of the book’s themes into music: welcome, journey, stillness, blessing, courage, justice, and the steady presence of Love.

Come as you are. Stay for a moment or linger awhile. There is room for you here.

A personal offering from Kim-Char

I have spent much of my life listening for what is true beneath the noise—through songs, stories, relationships, spiritual practice, and the ordinary moments that continue to teach me how to see.

This book gathers some of what I have lived and learned. It is not a declaration that I have everything figured out. It is an invitation to walk together through the questions, surprises, wounds, laughter, and grace of a fully lived life.

I hope these pages offer you companionship.

I hope they help you feel a little less alone.

Most of all, I hope they help you remember what has been within you all along.

Come as you are

Bring your questions.

Bring your stories.

Bring the places that still feel unfinished and the part of you that is ready to listen.

You do not have to become someone else before you begin.

You do not have to be completely healed, completely certain, or completely steady.

Love is already here.
