“Dancing on the Water,” written with Eric Brook, is a song about the joy we can find in relationship. There is something wonderful that happens when we step beyond the safety of standing alone on the shore and allow ourselves to meet one another—to play, to connect, and maybe even dance together. We remember who we are not only in solitude, but in relationship. Community can reflect our light back to us, invite out parts of ourselves we might not discover alone, and remind us that some of life’s greatest joy is found in the space we create together.

Dancing on the Water

Written by Kim-Char Meredith and Eric Brook

I am a vessel on the ocean of oneness,
Lifted and rising on the wake of your kindness.

How you stir the sea.
How you move me.

And oh, you’ve got me dancing on the water.
Oh, you’ve got me dancing.
Oh, you’ve got me dancing on the water.
Oh, you’ve got me dancing.

Two ships passing in time and space,
May we keep dancing with ease and grace.

How you stir the sea.
How you move me.

And oh, you’ve got dancing on the water.
Oh, you’ve got me dancing.
Oh, you’ve got me dancing on the water.
Oh, you’ve got me dancing.
